PARK(ing) Day is “an annual, worldwide event that inspires city dwellers everywhere to transform metered parking spots into temporary parks for the public good.” The point is simply to create a temporary public space for people to enjoy.
We created an urban knitting circle and played with the idea of a “work”place. With absurd flowerpots and good friends… we knit, made music and invited people to sit on our couch. We met so many delightful neighbors just by inviting participation in this PARK(ing) spot for an afternoon!
PARK(ing) Day is a non-commercial project, intended to promote creativity, civic engagement, critical thinking, unscripted social interactions, generosity and play.
